As a true coastal kid, Georg Busker practically grew up on the water and could probably sail before he could speak. Even at a young age, he was certain: sailing wasn’t going to remain just a hobby—he wanted to make it his career! No sooner said than done, he became a boat dealer. Today, we’re talking to him about his career and his passion.

Hi Georg, how did you get into boats and sailing, and which sailing area is a must-visit?
Even as a small child, my parents always took me sailing with them. Later came the classic Optimist and my very first dinghy! I was incredibly proud of that. Today, I prefer sailing on 38-foot yachts.
As for a sailing destination outside the Baltic Sea, I’m always thrilled by the Stockholm archipelago! Exploring those hundreds of islands is so idyllic and just so relaxing to sail. In my opinion, it’s something everyone should do at least once in their sailing life!
What makes your location here special?
Here in Großenbrode, our yachts aren’t just moored at the dock - our newest models can be viewed in our Aquadrom. This facility is actually one of a kind in Europe! The advantage for us is that we don’t need any elaborate structures to allow customers to board the boats at the same time, the boats are protected from all weather conditions.
Plus, we have the most beautiful sailing areas right on our doorstep. This makes us the ideal starting point for Baltic Sea cruises. Right next door is the charter company mola. So we’re in a great spot!
What should customers look for when buying their first boat?
First, you need to figure out what you want the boat for and what your needs and preferences are. Then, you should seek advice from no more than 2–3 dealers.
Too many opinions can only make it harder to navigate the market. For me, the most important thing is that customers leave feeling satisfied, and value for money naturally plays a key role in that.
